My name is Courtney, Iām 28 from Mortdale in Sydney and so far Iāve lost 25 kilos in 8 months with TLS.
Iāve always been the chubby kid, the āplus size girlā and have struggled with my weight my whole life. Iāve been up and down, tried āeating healthyā and dieting countless times however after having my beautiful baby boy in March 2021 I ballooned out to almost 130kg - the heaviest I have ever been in my life. I was so focused on being a new mum and finding my new normal I completely lost my sense of self and stopped caring about myself and my health.
I had tried countless times over the years to lose weight but it always felt unsustainable and this time it was a totally different mindset - I was doing this for me.
My partner had started The Man Shake and after a month or so I saw his results and knew this was something I could do - I wanted to be the best and healthiest version of me for my beautiful boy.
The most significant difference I have felt is the amount of energy I have now to run after my toddler - my partner and I have had a total mindset change. We are active people now which I never thought I would say. We go on daily walks, we are conscious of what we eat, and we are so proud we will be setting a great example for our son. We truly enjoy life now, I didnāt realise how much we were missing out on.
I also no longer avoid looking at myself in the mirror. I love what I see and am proud of the reflection looking back at me and what she has achieved.
